Our Club

ABOUT US

The Hong Kong Hobie Club (Fleet 179) was started in the late 1970s by a group of passionate cat sailors in To Tei Wan village on land leased from the Government.

We have sailors at every level, from real pros to enthusiastic beginners. The spirit of the club is relaxed and informal with everyone helping, sharing and pulling together.

ACTIVITIES

The Club organises a mix of races, training sessions and various social events – with something usually happening every month. The main regattas take place from September to November – when the north-east monsoon offers the best sailing conditions. But the club organises racing events all year round.

Club members frequently participate in inter-club regattas in HK, and some even sign up for events held in the Philippines, Thailand and China! Our club members have won many local and overseas regattas.

As well as sailing and racing, members can also bring family & friends to enjoy the club facilities on the beach. From having a BBQ, to swimming and fishing – this is the Hobie way of life.
